Kings of Concrete…
Yesterday, I went to the 2009 Kings of Concrete show in Doblin…. where people (lots of kiddo btw) were doing some skate, roller skates, cycling or breakdancing shows! I was first a bit disappointed, I was thinking yeah it is gonna like the American Shows and Movies, it is gonna be awesome… well it was purely amateur I have to say, but the sunny weather most of the time so It was not too bad on overall, I just say there to watch the breakdancing competition… foreigners seem better at breakdancing than Irish except a kiddo he was around 6 or 7 sooo cute 
I got to the finale ver close since I was sitting on the floor in front of the breakdancers Here is one of the breakdancer, the one who won I think… still wondering how they manage to do that I like that pic with that squarish B&W floor and his crazy position

Hier, je suis allée au Show Kings of Concrete a Dublin pour assister a des compétitions de patins a roulettes, vélo, skate et breakdancing…. surtout breakdancing. En arrivant, il y avait des gens qui taggaient des murs mis a leur disposition, l’ambiance avait l’air plutot amateur et tres jeune (j’ai pris un coup de vieux la) J’assistais uniquement a la compétition de Breakdancing… bon je m’attendais a un show a l’américaine… c’était pas le meme niveau quand meme, les breakdancers étrangers avaient l’air plus doué que les Dublinois il faut dire. Bref, pour une fois le soleil était au RDV… sympa… et pour la finale j’ai réussi a me faufiler tout devant pour etre assise pil poil en face des danseurs…. au risque de me prendre un pied dans la tronche quant on voit cette photo… je me demande encore comment ils arrivent a faire…. le reflet du sol a carreaux rend l’image encore plus sympa avec le beau temps. In the Misc category, did not really know where i should put that pic…. I guess I took it to remember me the day I felt I was just a number…. I think the last time I wore that type of bracelet It was in january 1980 when my mum just gave birth of that prodigious kid… me Anyway, last wednesday I did a brief visit to the emergency of st Vincent s hospital after a difficult night with migraine and stomach ache…. not much to worried…. after I wait 6 hours… u d better not be in a hurry in the emergency I m telling ya…analisys …negatives… 4 of my veins were mutilated… ok fine … not mutilated but not that pretty either… I guess i have never been a big fan of needles I came back home and decided to take a pic of that bracelet to remembered that wednesday…. I added the Black and White with my hand on the black leather sofa to add the extra dramatic effect on it
Dans la catégorie Misc…. je ne sais pas vraiment ou mettre cette photo… mais pour une fois que je me suis sentie comme un numéro plutot qu’un etre humain je me suis dit que je devais en garder un souvenir… la derniere fois que j’ai porté un bracelet comme ca je devais avoir quelques heures en ce 23 janvier 1980 lorsque ma mere apres avoir poussée pendant 20 minutes (ca c’est ce qu’elle dit… je ne sus que bien plus tard… qu’elle avait quand meme eu des points de soutures…. bref je vous passe les détails ) mit au monde ce magnifique prodige…. moi
Bref, mercredi dernier, je fis un ‘rapide’ séjour dans les urgences de l’hopital de St Vincent faut juste pas etre pressé c tout Ah vous allez me dire mais pourquoi? une vilaine migraine et mal d’estomac… ‘truc de ouf’…. 6h d’attente pour des résultats négatifs ‘ouf’ 4 veines mutilées (oui j’ai peur des aiguilles… je vois pas le rapport)! Je rentrais donc 7h plus tard et décidait de photographier ce bracelet en souvenir de ce mercredi 22 juillet! Je l’ai mis en Noir et Blanc prise sur mon canapé en cuir noir pour y ajouter un effet dramatique

Bienvenue dans mon tutoriel de clonage avec gimp Le week end dernier je suis allée dans le sud de la France pour feter les 80 ans de mon grand-pere. Forcément, nous sommes en juillet, dans le sud de la France… je ne pouvais pas partir sans mon appareil photo. Ce samedi soir la alors que j’étais allongée sur une chaise longue, sur la terasse de mamie domiciliée a Gallargues Le Montueux… je leve les yeux et que vois-je?

But here we go… problem… these 3 ugly electric cables ;( who ruined my super pic ;( so I started to use Gimp which is a software similar to Photoshop but FREE I am using Gimp also to tagged my pics as u can see
So I went to a forum (in french) to find a way to remove these ugly cables. I found a good link on the internet in english to what we call clone: which is to copy a colour of the pic and apply it on top of the detail/object that you want to remove, here: how to clone with gimp
Mais voila…. le probleme, on n’a pas besoin d’avoir les yeux de superman pour voir c 3 vilains cables électriques qui viennent gacher ma tres jolie photo. Je me suis donc mise a trifouiller Gimp… qui est un logiciel similaire a Photoshop mais GRATUIT. (Pour info: j’utilise également Gimp pour tagger mes images )
Donc je me rend sur un forum pour savoir comment faire pour supprimer c méchants cables. Je retrouve plus mon forum par contre j’ai trouvé un tutoriel qui vous explique comment cloner votre image… c’est a dire… la fonction clonage représentée par un icone qui ressemble a un tampon permet de copier une couleur de la photo et la dupliquer sur l’endroit ou vous souhaitez supprimer/masquer quelque chose. Confus? voir le tutoriel pour cloner.

And here is the result, not too bad for my first try with gimp, was lucky because the multitude of colours of the clouds make the retouchs almost invisible but if you zoom yeah you will see them

Et voila le résultat Bon j’ai passé TROP de temps a supprimer c 3 cables et cela reste amateur, je me demande s’il n’y a pas une méthode plus rapide et plus propre… mais pour une premiere c plutot pas mal Bon il faut dire que j’ai eu un peu de chance, comme se sont des nuages de differente couleur les retouches ne se voient pas trop, sauf si vous zoomez a fond de cale!

Miroir … Mirror….
Last year, early 2008, I went to a cooking class with 70 others. An Irish Cook who has apparently a tv show, gave us a cooking demonstration… you may wonder what we cook…. guess what…. Irish stew and brown bread, that’s right. No I am not gonna say that French Cuisine is the best (even if it came through my mind) but what can you cook for 70 people at the same time for a very reasonable budget?
Anyway, she showed us how to prepare the food but because we were numerous, people at the back could not see her…. but…. dunno who invented it but i think it is pretty clever, they installed a giant mirror on top of her table so everyone could at least see in the mirror to check what s going on!
So of course, as a papparazzi, I went with my camera and for the first I was able to be in front and in tha back of my camera!!!!!! To that picture I added the Polaroid style with the Poladroid apps that I talked about in my previous post (very easy and super cool!!!!). So here it is…. Mirror…. Mirror… Who is the cutest?
Miroir mon beau miroir dis moi qui est la plus belle en ce jour… Début 2008… cours de cuisine avec une cuisinière irlandaise qui apparemment passait à la télé. Qu’est-ce qu’elle nous a appris a cuisiner ? du ragout irlandais… forcement avec leur pain brin très bourratif ! Le principe était assez simple… elle nous montrait comment faire… mais comme on était 70 personnes, elle utilisait un énorme miroir positionné au dessus de son établi pour que tout le monde puisse voir… pas folle la bête !
Moi forcément, j’avais pris mon appareil photo… on ne se refait pas que voulez-vous… préférant être derrière l’objectif plutôt que devant… pour une fois j’avais l’occasion d’être devant et derrière en même temps !!! A cela j’ai ajouté le mode polaroid à cette photo, je vous en avais déjà parlé lors de mon précédent post dans cette même catégorie a voir ICI
Festival, Dublin, 06/2009
Last June, I went to see in Merrion Square Park in Dublin, the 2009 Street Performance World Championship where artists/jugglers/comedians/magicians/dancers from all over the world gathered for that special 4 days show! On saturday I saw this Australian crazy performer Alakazam…. my god, i call him crazy cause when you are able to pass your entire body through a squash racket + a tennis racket + a loo seat u’d better be crazy! Not only that, he also managed to climb up a 6m ( i think) stick and started to juggle with 5 balls, and then with knifes!!!! It was unbelievable and very entertaining, he did not win this year, some American breakdancers won but it was worth to watch.

Le mois dernier j’assistais pour la deuxième année consécutive au Championnat Mondial des Festivals de rues, avec des artistes multitâches (jongleurs, comiques, danseurs, magiciens, marionnettistes…) venus des quatre coins du monde… Pour une fois le temps irlandais a été plus ou moins clément, il a quand même plut jeudi et vendredi une partie de l’après-midi. Le samedi, je me rendis donc à: Merrion Square Park pour assister à mon premier show avec l’artiste Australien Alakazam…. Un fou, j’ai pas d’autres mots en tête, quand on arrive à passer a travers une raquette de squash + une raquette de tennis + un siège de toilette, ou quand on arrive à jongler à 6 m de hauteur avec des couteaux (attention pas couteau en plastique… plus taille sabre) forcement on est un peu kamikaze dans l’air.

Au pays des couleurs…. India
In the category ‘Travel’… I call India. Last April, I went 3 weeks on holidays to India. I stopped first in Hyderabad, where I got the chance to visit many great places and monuments including this temple. I have to say I am a big fan of these hindu temples, I saw many of them, some pretty old where the color of the paints were fading, I saw some in-progress ones, completely white and some very colorful like this one, where the colours were smoothly mixing with that flashy green of these palm trees leaves. Unfortunately I was not allowed to visit the temple itself… apparently my dress was a tiny bit too short (right above the knee ;( ) Anyway, I still had the chance to see it and click it
Aujourd’hui dans la categorie ‘Voyage’ je demande l’Inde. Recemment, je suis partie 3 semaines en Inde. Je passais mes premiers jours a Hyderabad, temperature exterieure: 38 degres… climatisation dans la voiture: a fond de cale! Ce qui m’a beaucoup plus en Inde et pour ce que j’ai visite ou pu decouvrir, se sont les temples hindu. J’en ai vu des vieux, dont les couleurs se fadaient, j’en ai vu des en cours de fabrication, encore tout blanc, et j’en ai vu d’autres comme celui-ci. Magnifique couleurs, se melangeant avec ce vert des palmiers (je me demande d ailleurs comment ces palmiers survivent avec cette chaleur). Malheureusement, ma jupe m’arrivant tout juste au dessus du genou, je me suis vue refuser l’entree dans le temple ;( Je ne pus l’admirer que de l’exterieur….mais c’est deja pas mal
I believe I can fly….
Everyone knows the song… I believe I can fly… I believe I can touch sky…. well right I believe i m good at touching the ground… but this is not the subject of my post today. Recently during one of my trip in Ireland, I m living there and before I leave this greenish island, I m making sure I can discover most of it So I went for the 4th times in the Peninsula of Dingle, beautiful to visit when it is sunny… a must see in Ireland (with the ring of kerry and Killarney … located in the South). While driving along the Peninsula, in the middle of trip there is this spot with a big status of Jesus and Marie and someone else I think, and opposite to that, you have a place to park the car for tourist to take pictures and here is my poing coming…. a great spot for seagals to get some food. No way they are shy, or maybe but they are more starving than shy and by coming next to the tourists they are hoping to get some picnic leftovers
I dunno weither it is a good shot or not, but I managed to click that one while she was overhanging on top of me I took it with my Nikon D40, lens 18-135mm, I m pretty happy with my shot. Any constructive comment to make it better is always appreciated! Cheers!
Tout le monde connait cette chanson de R Kelly : I believe I can fly et bien récemment je suis allée me ballader dans le sud de l’Irlande… je rappelle a mon audience que je vis sur cette ile bien verdoyante depuis 2005… bientot 4ans. Bref, en me ballant le long de la baie de Dingle au sud-ouest de l’Irlande (au dessus de Killarney) je suis passée a plusieurs reprises a ce meme endroit… et bizaremment…. cela ressemble a un repere de mouettes…. elles viennent se ballader dans les alentours des qu’une voiture s arrete…. BAM elles se ramenent tranquille…. l’air de rien… et surtout pas farouches! …. pour un éventuel petit festin composé de pain de mie ou autres victuailles ou plutot les restes du pique nique Alors forcément, je m’arrete un instant …. mon Nikon surexcité…. gesticulant pour pouvoir enfin sortir de sa pochette et prendre en photos c belles mouettas… et si parfois il me faut 80 shots pour avoir une belle photo…. ce jour-la il m en a fallut 5 pour avoir cette mouette… en plein vol… en approche d un atterissage forcé du a un manque de vitamines

Voici donc une photo de Sara, une copine italienne qui, avant de partir en vacances aux Caraibes, souhaitait changer son look en mode Rasta Rocket… 2h30 plus tard… une cinquantaine de tresses… et voila… Photo prise dans le salon, en couleur Sepia avec mon Nikon D40 !
